Shifts
Name, time and retire the shifts people are rostered on.
What it's for
Shifts are the blocks of time chatters are rostered on. The agency starts with the three shifts from the old "Off Days" sheet: 3AM – 11AM, 11AM – 7PM and 7PM – 3AM, New York time. You can rename them, change their times, add one or retire one without waiting for a new version of the app.
Before you start
- You're signed in as an Administrator. Managers can use the roster but can't change the shifts.
Steps
Open Shifts
In the menu on the left, click Settings → Shifts, or click Shifts at the top right of Operations → Roster. The table lists each shift's Name, Hours, Order and status (Active or Retired).
Add or edit a shift
Click Add shift, or Edit on a row. Fill in:
- Name: what people see, for example "7PM – 3AM". Two shifts can't have the same name.
- Starts and Ends: the times. An end at or before the start means the shift ends the next day, and it belongs to the day it starts.
- Time zone:
America/New_Yorkby default. - Order: the order of the rows on the roster (0 comes first).
- Active: untick it to retire the shift.
Click Save shift (or Add shift). A message says Shift saved. or Shift added.
What you should see
- If two active shifts overlap, or some hours of the day have no active shift, a box Check the shift times lists them, for example "No active shift covers 11:00 PM – 1:00 AM."
- A retired shift stays in the list (greyed, Retired) and in past rosters, but can't be used for new roster shifts.

Good to know
Each roster shift keeps the exact hours it had when it was saved, so changing a shift later never changes who was on a page at a past time (and never changes past commission).
