Test plan
One ordered walkthrough of the whole Administrator role, from signing in to signing out.
What it's for
This page walks you through everything an Administrator can do, in an order where each step prepares the next: you create a made-up employee, give them a login and a role, use them in the other pages, pay them, then tidy up. Each line links to the guide page with the detailed steps and its own test checklist.
Before you start
- You have an Administrator account (or the Administrator test account; the owner shares these privately).
- For the "blocked" checks, you can sign in as another role: use that role's test account, or the made-up login you create in step 3. A second browser (or a private window) lets you stay signed in as both.
- Allow about two hours for the whole plan. You can stop after any section.
- Each section starts with a short video of the steps (no sound, captions on screen). The videos use made-up people and numbers, so your screens show different names and figures.
The test app shares its data with the live app
Everything you create or change while testing is visible to everyone, including the real staff's numbers. Use obviously made-up names such as "Jane Example", and start the name of everything else you create (a role, a task, a request, a document, an expense, a client) with TEST, for example "TEST role". Change pay and access only for your made-up people, never change a built-in role, and agree with the owner which payroll week to use. Employees, logins and payroll lines can't be deleted, so the last section explains how to retire them.

Good to know
- The test app never sends email. Every email it would send is kept in the outbox (Settings → Emails → Open the outbox, or the link in the orange band), where you can open it as the person would see it.
- If something doesn't match this guide, note the page, the step and what you saw, and tell the owner.
