Commission settings
Choose which sale types count toward chatter commission, and from which week.
What it's for
Chatters earn their commission rate on the net of their sales: what is left after the platform's fee. Settings → Payroll decides which kinds of sales count. By default only Messages and Tips count, because subscriptions and posts are not the chatter's own work.
Each setting starts on a Monday and stays in force until a newer one starts. Approved and paid weeks never change.
Before you start
- You're signed in as an Administrator.
- You know from which week the change should apply. It must be after the last week that has an approved or paid payment.
Steps
Open the page
In the menu on the left, click Settings → Payroll. The title is Payroll settings. On the left is the Commission card; on the right, the History.
Pick the counted sale types
Under Counted sale types, check the kinds of sales that earn commission: Messages (paid messages), Tips, Subscriptions, Recurring subscriptions and Posts. Any new kind of sale Infloww starts sending shows up here too. Types left unchecked never earn commission.
The boxes start with the setting in force this week.
Narrow the tips (optional)
Under Tip sources, leave every box unchecked to count every tip. Check Chat, Profile, Post, PostAll, Stream or Story to count only tips from those places. This only matters when Tips is checked.
Choose the start week and save
Set Effective from (Monday) to the Monday of the first week the setting applies to, add a Note if useful (for example why it changed), and click Save from this Monday.
What you should see
- A message: "Commission policy saved from" followed by the Monday.
- The new setting at the top of History: "From" the Monday, "Net of Messages, Tips · all tips", your note, your name and today's date.
- On Payroll, Pending lines of that week and later follow the new setting after Refresh calculations. Their commission line reads "Commission on net" with the counted types.
Test checklist
Good to know
- Settings are never edited or deleted. To change your mind, save a new one: if two start on the same Monday, the one saved last wins.
- Weeks before the first setting keep the old rule: commission on gross sales, every sale type.
- How commission is worked out: How pay is calculated.
