Ask for time off
Ask for days off, part of a day off, or a change to your own schedule.
What it's for
When you need a day off, a few hours off, or a different schedule, you ask here, like everyone on the team. You can't approve your own request: another manager or an administrator decides it.
Before you start
- You're signed in as a Manager.
- You know the first day and the last day.
- Someone else can review it: another manager or an administrator.
Steps
Open My requests
In the menu on the left, click Operations → My requests. The title is My requests. Under it: "Time off, schedule changes, equipment and anything else you need from the team."
Start a new request
Click New request. A panel called New request opens on the right of the page. It says: "Admins and managers review it. You can edit or cancel it until it is decided."
Choose the type
In Type, pick:
- Time off: you will not work (whole days or part of a day). It is picked first.
- Schedule change: you want to work at other times.
Give it a title
In Title, write a short title, for example "Doctor visit" or "Family trip". 3 to 120 characters. While testing, start it with TEST, for example "TEST time off".
Pick the days
- First day (ET): the first day.
- Last day (ET): the last day. For one day only, pick the same day twice.
The days are New York days (ET).
Part of a day (optional)
If you need only some hours, tick Part of a day only. A Hours box appears. Type the number of
hours, for example 4 or 2.5.
Add details (optional)
In Details (optional), add anything that helps the reviewer, for example who covers your chatters.
Send it
Click Submit request at the bottom of the panel (or Cancel to close it).
What you should see
- The request page opens. The title is the title you wrote.
- The status is Submitted.
- When shows your days, for example "Nov 3, 2026 – Nov 5, 2026". With part of a day, it adds the hours, for example "· 4 h".
- History shows "Submitted for" and your dates, for example "Submitted for 2026-11-03 → 2026-11-05."
- There is no Review box on your own request.
- The request is in your list on Operations → My requests, and other reviewers see it on Operations → Requests → Staff requests.
The date rules (a red message shows under the field):

Good to know
An approval does not change your pay or your schedule in the app by itself. It is the team's answer to your request.
Nobody is emailed about your request yet. Tell another manager or an administrator that it is waiting.
To follow, change or cancel your request, see Follow your staff requests.
You are testing on real data
The test app shares its data with the live app, and requests can't be deleted. Start the title of a test request with TEST (for example "TEST time off"), and cancel it when you're done. Ask another tester (an administrator or a second manager) to decide it, not a real reviewer.
