Request files
Add, download or remove the reference files of a content request (up to 5).
What it's for
A content request can carry up to 5 reference files, for example pictures the fan sent or a PDF with the details. The team and the creator use them to make exactly what the fan asked for.
Before you start
- You're signed in as an Administrator.
- You have PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF files of 4 MB or less each.
Who can do what with the files (by default)
| Who | Download | Add | Remove |
|---|---|---|---|
| Administrator | Yes | Yes, at any status | Yes, at any status |
| The person who submitted it | Yes | Yes, until it is Sent, Declined or Cancelled | No |
| Manager or Chatter who works on that creator | Yes | Only on requests they submitted, while open | No |
| The creator (portal login) | Yes, in the creator portal | No | No |
Steps
Find the Reference files card
Open the request (Operations → Requests, then click it). The Reference files card says "No reference files." when there are none yet. Requests made before several files were allowed may have one older file: it is listed first.
Add files
Under Add files, the line says how many more are allowed, for example "(3 more allowed)". Click the file box, choose one or more files, then click Upload. The button says Uploading… while it saves.
Download a file
Click Download next to the file name. Your browser saves the file.
Remove a file
Click the bin button next to Download (its label is "Remove" and the file name). The file is removed straight away: there is no "are you sure" question.
What you should see
- Messages at the bottom right: File added., Files added. or File removed.
- Each file shows its name, its size such as "(312 KB)" and Download.
- History adds "Added file" or "Removed file", followed by the file name.
- With 5 files, the upload box is gone and the card says "This request has 5 files, the most allowed."
- The creator sees the files in their portal under Reference files, each with a Download button.

Good to know
Who sees the files
As the Reference files card says, the files are visible to you, the request reviewers and the creator of that account, in the creator portal. Don't attach anything the creator shouldn't see.
Each person can upload at most 20 files in 10 minutes. After that the message says "Too many uploads. Wait a few minutes and try again." If a file fails, the message names it with the reason. A remove that fails says "The file could not be removed."
