Update a task
Change a task's status, add a comment and download its file.
What it's for
As you work on a task, keep its status up to date and add comments. The person who gave you the task follows it from their side, so they always know where it stands.
Before you start
- You're signed in as a Scheduler.
- A task is assigned to you (see See your tasks).
Steps
Open the task
On Management → My tasks, click the task's card. A panel opens on the right. Under the title you see your name, the due date and the priority, for example Jane Example · due Wed, Oct 22 · Normal priority. Then the status badge, and Overdue if the due date has passed.
Read the instructions
The grey box holds the instructions (or No instructions.). If a manager gave you part of their task, you see Part of and the name of their task.
Download the file
If the task has a file, the Attachment section shows its name and size. Click Download.
Change the status
Under Move to, click the new status. You can move freely between To do, In progress, Blocked and Done. Before clicking, you can type in Optional note with the change, for example why it's blocked.
Add a comment
Type in Comment (2 to 1,000 characters) and click Add comment.
What you should see
- After a status change: the message Status updated. History gets a line such as To do → In progress., or To do → Blocked: Waiting for the photos with your note.
- After a comment: the message Comment added. The comment shows in History, as typed.
- Each History line shows who did it and when, for example Jane Example · Oct 22, 3:04 PM ET.
- When the task is Done or Cancelled, the Move to buttons are gone.
Test checklist
Good to know
- Only an administrator can cancel a task or reopen a Done one. If you marked a task Done by mistake, ask an administrator to reopen it.
- Nobody gets an email when you change a status or comment. The person who gave you the task sees it in the app.
